Arthur Ira “Art” Garfunkel is a Grammy Award winning American folk rock and soft rock singer from Queens, New York.

Art brings along a guitarist and keyboardist, performing Simon & Garfunkel songs, solo hits, select covers and he reads excerpts from Luminous. He recently told Nashville Scene, “I don’t look at it as a tour. I just look at it as: ‘This is what I do.’ I go out on the road and I do shows, usually on the weekend. Are they tours? They’re mini-tours. This is my life. I sing; I have a booking agent; he finds me stages; and I go all over the world and I do my shows. I love it. And you do these famous songs, you earn your pay and move on to the next town — I like this.”

Located between Colorado Springs and Denver, Castle Rock events take place at Douglas County Fairgrounds, Phillip S. Miller Park, Festival Park and Downtown Castle Rock. Most Castle Rock events are family friendly. Castle Rock got its name thanks to a huge rock on the east side of the city (You can’t miss it on the drive down I25). Early settlers thought this geological formation looked like a Castle on the Hill. For over 80 years, a signature Castle Rock event has been the Castle Rock Starlighting. This event dates to 1936 and takes place the Saturday before Thanksgiving every year. A 45-foot star located on the top of the Castle Rock is lit up and stays that way until the end of January. The town celebrates the lighting with fireworks, hot chocolate, a visit from Santa, live music, the outdoor ice skating rink and just good old fashion fun.  (Photo Credit on Watermark)
